University Campus Barnsley is offering a new Foundation Degree in Learning Support for people aiming to progress their career in teaching or learning support.

The course is run on a part-time basis and is ideal for those looking to work in organisations such as primary and secondary schools, community settings, early years environments and out-of-school clubs.

On completion of the course, students could progress on to higher level teaching assistant roles or on to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at primary level, subject to criteria.

UCB tutor Ian Palmer said: “This course will help students to build good foundations to enhance their knowledge and understanding in education and enable them to progress onwards to further study.”

The course costs just £2,995 per year and can be studied in the daytime or evenings.
