Students have gained a professional insight from Photographer and Artist, Anton Want.

Anton delivered a workshop to Art and Design Higher National Diploma students, where they were given ideas on how to present artwork and have a disciplined approach to following a client brief, as well as tips on producing creative and engaging artwork.

The students were able to visit Anton’s exhibition at the Cooper Gallery, where he talked about his photographic interpretation of ongoing redevelopment and social change within Barnsley town centre between 2014 and 2017.

Anton said: “It was great to chat with the students about my exhibition at the Cooper Gallery. It’s nice to be able to provide them with information and guidance on how to approach their work and own exhibitions in the future. I wish the students every success in their future endeavours.”

Evan Wood, Art, Design and Fashion Higher Education Curriculum Leader, added: “It’s good for the students to gain insights and tips into the industry they have chosen to develop a career in. The group were able to ask Anton for advice and ideas to help them on their own ‘Art Matters More Than Facts’ exhibition at University Campus Barnsley.”
