Alumni Chloe Dixon is one of 20 players selected to represent Team GBR women’s football squad at this year’s World University Games in China.

The 21-year-old, who studied Sport, Physical Education and Health BA (Hons) Top-Up at University Campus Barnsley, will travel to Hong Kong in August for a training camp before competing against Russia and South Africa.

After the tournament Chloe will begin a Graduate Teaching Programme placement at her former Primary School, Upton Primary in Pontefract. Chloe will now bring international football experience to her teaching and inspire future students to chase their dreams.

Chloe of Clayton Avenue, Upton, said: “Being selected for the World University Games felt incredible and came as a big shock, so when I actually got in I was overwhelmed. I am looking forward to being able to experience China as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“UCB helped me throughout my pursuit in being part of the games, our timetable allowed me to go to all my lessons and arrive at training on time. The tutors were very supportive and always available on campus.”
