Staff from University Campus Barnsley (UCB) and Barnsley College will be showcasing their talents at the Annual Staff Fine Art Exhibition which opens on Friday 29 January at the Contemporary Gallery in The Victorian Arcade, Barnsley.
The exhibition, which is open to the public, will run for two weeks and will close on Friday 12 February. Artwork on show will include an array of paintings, photography, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture exploring subjects including landscape and documentary. The exhibition will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday.
Head of Art and Design, Ian Latham, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the often hidden talents of our members of staff. They are a creative bunch and have many years’ experience of producing and exhibiting their work, a skill they bring every day to the classroom. It’s great that we can showcase this to their students and also open it up to the people of Barnsley.”
The show is one of a range of new exhibitions that UCB will be organising that celebrates the diversity of creative art practice from both staff who work at the college and students who attend Level 3, HND and Degree programmes at the college and UCB.
