The award winning Enterprise department has a number of innovative programmes, initiatives and projects on offer for students to get involved in. 

Employability programme

An emplyability programme which covers a range of information, tips, guidance and practice. Topics covered are: CV writing, interviews, networking and commercial awareness, and team and leadership skills. These sessions include involvement from industry experts and employers providing you with practical and current know-how for increasing your chances of gaining employment whilst studying or after your course.

A three-stage employability programme which covers a range of information, tips, guidance and practice. These will increase your chances of gaining employment whilst studying or after your course. This programme covers CV writing, interviews, networking and Commercial awareness, and Team and Leadership skills.

BCEF Opportunities Fund – sponsored by ASOS

This funding pot can be accessed by UCB students who wish to carry out exceptional work experience or employability experiences. Previous students have undertaken work experience placements in other countries, including Canada and Australia.

iTrust

An exciting joint venture with local newspaper, The Barnsley Chronicle, to support individuals in setting up businesses. iTrust offers grant funding and access to information and guidance, as well as local industry mentors. This year, we have support from online clothing retailer ASOS, which is part-funding some of the grants and providing mentor support. So far, iTrust has had a number of successful start-up businesses in the creative, media and service sectors including photographers, accessory designers and media specialists.
