Our Travel and Tourism students are launching a living history event to remember, educate and celebrate the end of World War One (WW1).

Students have been working hard on the event which will run over two weeks in November 2018, focusing specifically on the demobilisation of troops, nurses and others at the front line to their homes around the UK between 1918 and 1920.

100 years on, starting at Elsecar Heritage Railway, your experience of World War One will feature an authentic steam rail journey where actors portray local people telling their stories of the war and returning home. This historic site will bustle with characters and memories, recreating life in South Yorkshire a century ago.
